Try to wear loose or stretchy clothing, as your chiropractor may be moving you around to test your joints, nervous system and muscles. Also avoiding clothing with zips, buttons or sequins is useful in case we need to take X-rays for further assessment.
Usually up to 40 minutes. Depending on the complexity of the case, we may need to use the full 40 minutes. It is important we have as much information as we can in order for your chiropractor to create a thorough diagnosis and treatment plan for you.
This is the treatment that is tailored to you. Chiropractors use precise and safe techniques to improve mobility and function of the joints and muscles of the spine. An improvement to your posture and spinal function will take stress off your nervous system (Spinal Cord and Nerves).
The popping sound heard with these adjustments, is the air within the joints releasing as the joint has an increased range of motion.
Although our clients welcome the fact that the Adjustments are not a time consuming process, as we understand your time is precious; it is important we schedule progress reviews, which are slightly longer appointments to make sure you are on the right track towards your goals.
This is very much dependent on the individual and their goals. Our strategy is always to encourage your body to get as much time between adjustments as possible. Early on in the process, the changes to the body are short lived and require adjustments more often.
As your nervous system becomes adapted to the desired changes to posture, mobility and function, there is less need to be adjusted as often. Most of our clients try to get adjusted between every 4 to 12 weeks. Some less frequent, some more frequent - we offer advice, but it is completely your choice!
This is exactly what we mean by maintenance and preventative care, so yes.
The body is always fighting against gravity and is subject to the physical or mental stress on a daily basis.
Pain and stiffness is usually (but not always) an indication a problem has gone on too long unresolved.
Although the initial reason for seeking out a care plan may have been because our client was in pain; we would much rather our clients were assessed and adjusted prior to a problem even occurring.
Counterintuitively, it makes sense that your experience at the clinic is dramatically improved when you’re pain free and thriving; which is always our mission.
Babies are not adjusted the same as adults; which is probably goes without saying, however it is normal to feel apprehensive about where to take your child.
The process of giving birth is a beautiful thing, but can come with a lot of physical stress to the baby and mother.
Birthing difficulties such Forceps, C-sections and Breached Births can put excessive pressure on the infant’s neck, shoulders and hips; resulting in sleeping and feeding difficulties.
Babies and children are adjusted by a chiropractor with very gentle soothing pressure. They usually improve faster and require less frequent care than adults.
X-rays are not always clinically indicated and we maintain a high regard for radiation regulations.
Many times clients will seek our help because; they haven’t improved from previous manual treatment or medication; they have had a problem for a number of years; or they have suffered a physical trauma. In order to provide a thorough and safe plan of care, X-rays are required to find the root cause of your problem or rule out more sinister causes.
Chiropractors can help with a number of musculoskeletal conditions, a few examples include; neck pain and headaches, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and plantarfasciitis.
They also treat hip and knee pain caused by osteoarthritis.
